The Truth About Water And Weight Loss

Ok…so before we talk about Drinking Water To Lose Weight, lets discuss some things to be aware of first. Some studies show everyone should have about 8 – 8 ounce glasses of water each day. Yet another says men should have about 13 cups a day and women should have about 9 cups a day. The second study also takes into account water you consumed through food or other beverages every day. Don’t forget to calculate in water lost trough bodily functions such as sweating, breathing and going to the bath room. How could you possibly keep track of that? Some say that the studies were misinterpreted and hard to understand the studies conclusions. I say we just take a common sense approach.

Normal Water Intake
This is how I approach it. You have to look at how much water you intake just like how many calories you consume. If you are burning 2000 calories a day, and you want to stay at your current weight, you should consume 2000 calories a day…Right? We should take that same approach with drinking water.

The only problem is there is no way to know how much water you have  excerpted in each day. It’s very difficult to calculate how much water you have taken in through other types of drinks and foods. There’s lots of water in fruits and vegetables and these count as water you consume. You also have to factor in the climate you live in. Obviously in hotter climates you will sweat more…requiring more water.

Your Daily Activities

You also have to calculate what you did today how much sweat and so on. How about if your man or woman or a child? You have to factor all these things in to figure out how much each person individually should drink.  I personally eat 6 meals a day. I have 1  8 ounce cup of water with each one of those meals. If you only eat 3 meals a day you would want to double the amount of water at each meal. Or if you feel like you want to drink more or less than that in each meal…that’s fine too. If I am thirsty in between those meals I drink more, if not then I don’t. I also work out for about an hour a day. I will usually drink anywhere from 1 to 2 cups at that time .

I live in Arizona and during the summer depending on what I am doing if I am outside…I would have to drink a lot more water. So you can see for my situation I would probably be drinking quit a lot more than someone else.
