Ok…so this question comes up a lot. When Can I Eat Cheat Meals when I’m trying to either Get Ripped or Lose Weight?

Cheat Meals When Getting Ripped?

Cheat meals to me are foods that you know are not good for you, but taste really good. You know…pizza, pastas, burgers, chicken wings, fried chicken, bacon and all the other foods that don’t really help your body run well. But…Americans love these and I have to admit, I like some of these myself.

Here’s The Deal With Cheat Meals!

I’m not going to sit here and say you should never eat these foods again. It’s like you’ve probably heard before. It about self control and moderation. Here’s how I personally handle cheat meals in my life and it seems to be working pretty well fro me. Since I finished Insanity over 12 months ago, I have kept my fat percentage down and actually even lost 1% to 2 % more. I’m currently about 7% to 8 % body fat.

Here’s My Take On Eating Your Cheat Meals

The reason I say my take is because you will hear tons of opinions on this and this is just mine. You need to figure out what works for you by testing your calories and metabolism.

I personally never cheated while doing theĀ Insanity 60 day workout program. I think if you commit to a program or a routine you need to stick to that diet plan, so you can receive the best results possible. You will actually find that after you get through 30 days of eating clean with no cheat meals, you will have less urge…because your mind is changing too. Plus…you won’t want to lose the time you’ve already earned and accomplishment.

My Personal Rule!

My personal rule now is that if I’m at my goal weight or body fat percentage…than I can have 1 cheat meal every 1 – 1/2 to 2 weeks. This has worked for me and I’ve been sticking to this rule for the past 8 months. The thing is when I have the chance to cheat, I still usually choose something that is better for me with the choices I’m given. It’s just my way of life now.

I think if you are trying to lose weight and you’re not there yet…Don’t Cheat! It will only slow down your progress and make it harder for you to get back on track. You have to ask yourself the question. Is this worth it? Do I have the strength to say no to cheat meals until I reach my goal weight? It’s a mind game and you need to have conversations with yourself to hold yourself accountable. I know it sounds weird, but it works.

Cheat Meals And Building Muscle

Now…if you’re trying to build muscle and get ripped for the summer or that dream vacation. If you want to see your muscles, including your abs…than you need to be at about 8% body fat. If you’re not there yet…No Cheat Meals. Like I said earlier…it’s only going to slow down the process.

Let me finish up by saying that if you do decide to cheat, it’s very important that the very next day you go right back to your clean diet. Forget about the day before and start your day with your normal breakfast and continue this for the entire day. Cheat meals won’t kill your diet as long as you get back to the diet plan that you know will help you get healthier and reach your fitness goals.

Be smart and use common sense about your cheat meals and I’m sure you’ll know what to do.

Now…You get RIPPED!
